Magda and Maja

Magda works at Magnolia, a beauty place right around the corner from my studio.  I go there to  beautify myself when I get the rare chance.  The girls who work there are super nice and super warm and friendly.  As a baby gift the girls bought Magda 3 sessions with me.  We just did the sitting up stage.  I love how Maja looks on this red coach.

Lesa, Rich and Ethan

Lesa and Rich are hilarious.
They both make jokes, make each other laugh and make me laugh. Working with them is really fun.
I am certain their child will grow up to be a comedian.

Ethan was 7 days old for his photo session and stayed asleep for most it.  It was fun being able to mold him into the the various perfect baby positions.
Lesa was not leaving until she had a shot of  Ethan asleep on his tummy.  This turned out to be the announcement card and the cover of their album.

These shots are going to go in the baby’s room.  The tryptich will be 3 separate canvases to hang above the crib.

Pippa and August

I met Stephen in the neighborhood when I photographed his daughter Pippa for Halloween at the Flying Squirrel.   Stephen also runs the UPS store where I mail my packages. He told me when he was a kid he had a single framed photo of himself around age one hanging in his home.  He wanted a photo of his daughter Pippa (born Nov 06) done around the same age at the same time.   I did that in 2007.  Right after August was born he said, Rachel. I want to do the same photo of August August is just about 14 months here…
This was Pippa around the same age..(now all we need is Stephen’s old photo)
and he wanted a photo just like hers….
Here are the 2 photos of each kid at simular ages but years apart.

Corey, Jim and Liam

I met Corey 2 years ago when I was walking to my studio.  I was about to do an underwater shoot and I wanted another person who was pregnant. There was Corey…a perfect model.  She came all the way to the Hamptons with her husband and dog. All the underwater shoots I do with Roberto Falck and we did some gorgeous photos of her.  The one of her  in the slideshow is one of them that is hanging in her apartment in big canvases.
When Adele was born and we did the baby first year program and now Liam was just born.   Here are a few of his cuteness…we were trying to be creative with a boat looking object but it looks like Liam wants to jump ship.  I swear he was asking me during the shoot.. “Rachel…what the heck am I doing in a boat?  Am I supposed to float on the rug or something?

Elisabeth, Xavier and Noah

Elisabeth and Xavier won a prize at Destination Maternity for a maternity session with me and they decided to come again for a newborn session.
Elisabeth is Chinese and expressed that red was an important color for her culturally and personally and red roses would also be fun to incorporate.
She bought this gorgeous red rose fabric we used it as a background and we used the flowers to adorn her hair and her tummy.  Once the baby arrived she wanted to see some of the red theme continue…

Donna, Stewart and Bryce

Donna and Stewart are awesomely sweet people.  They have been in my life for about 2 years now.  I shot their wedding with Roberto Falck and almost exactly 9 months later they were expecting baby Bryce.
Bryce recently hit his last stage of our sessions..the standing up stage.  This was an important day as well because it is the first day that Bryce played in the snow.  If you watch the slideshow you can see by some of his expressions that he is trying to figure out what snow is…
Donna also bought a hat for him that I just loved and I have included a nine square I made of all the expressions he had wearing the hat.   I can’t wait for them to see their graduation gift which is a slideshow of the year….maternity, newborn, sitting up and standing up.
